You can now import paper-based Parent visa applications into your ImmiAccount

Update: ImmiAccount now supports paper-based Parent visa applications

The Department of Home Affairs has rolled out an important update for Parent visa applicants which streamlines the application process and reduces the administrative burden on visa applicants and their representatives. Parent visa applicants who submit a paper-based application for a Parent visa (excluding Parent (Subclass 103) visa applications lodged before November 2018) can now access online services through the ImmiAccount.

While the initial visa application must still be lodged using a paper form to ensure validity of the visa application pursuant to Schedule 1 of the Migration Regulations 1994 (Cth), applicants can import their application into ImmiAccount once they receive acknowledgement of their Parent visa application from the Department.

Once the application has been linked to an ImmiAccount, applicants can:

  • Upload supporting documentation

  • Receive and view messages from the Department

  • Update personal details

  • Track the progress and status of their application

This feature is available for all paper Parent visa applications except for Parent (Subclass 103) visa applications lodged before November 2018.

A detailed, step-by-step guide on how to import your paper application is available on the Department’s Apply and manage your application webpage.
